Roberto Bonfanti- the high-profile member of a group of internationally-acclaimed researchers in the innovative cosmetics field- has an educational background in agronomy and experience gained at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Urbino, where he deepened his knowledge of biotechnology in the making of cosmetics. In the eighties, following a period of further studies and experimentation, Roberto started Laboratori Hur in Florence. His is a holistic vision which breaks the most traditional approach to skincare and brings science and nature together. Inspiration is drawn from our homeland, Tuscany, from our country’s culture, including culinary culture and, last but not least, from the memories of aromas and flavors of  the past, but also of the present, where research is always the first step in the process. Roberto’s method is scientific, thus, based also on Neuroscience and on the very powerful skin and brain interconnections. His strength, however, lies also in letting himself be guided by the people he meets and by the stimuli that constantly affect our everyday life, in order to pursue the balance and wellbeing which always seem so hard to achieve, but are actually more easily attainable than most people think. All it takes is a global vision of ourselves and of whatever surrounds us, that is, a holistic approach.

Every single Hur product is made by hand at the Florence-based laboratory: extraordinary everyday work, which involves the seamless alternating of research and production.

All fresh plant extracts are sourced from organic farms: they are the basic ingredients of all our products and are processed by using 100% natural methods which preserve the  active principles' effectiveness. Hur uses many active ingredients:  different combinations of these ingredients are found in every product. The combinations and weights of the ingredients in each product are carefully formulated to provide the most effective results on the skin. 

Hur products do not contain paraffins and parabens, but only natural vegetable oils, natural preservatives and vegetable emulsifiers. The in-house laboratory's activity revolves, in fact, around research: at Hur's, every product is considered to be variable and, thus, susceptible of improvement by building on the ongoing progress of cosmetics and on the founder's experimental approach.
